The Vikings were just one component of the Nordic countries of the time. According to custom, only the eldest son inherited an inheritance or title, and most of the second children had to go somewhere else to live. In addition, population growth makes land and jobs increasingly inadequate for everyone, which also motivates others to travel abroad. The success of the early raiding missions made the chiefs eager and they organized larger raiding voyages. Then came the conquest and colonization.
In some stages, the Danish Viking raids and invasions stemmed from political causes. Some historians asserted that these early raiding missions coincided with civil wars. Plundering trips in Europe are for the wealth of the inter-tribal civil wars. It also shows that the Norwegian and Swedish Vikings were generally more inclined to trade and colonize than loot like the Danish Vikings.
