The Moto2 is an alternative to the traditional 250cc format from 2010. The cars competing in this mode have a 600cc four-stroke engine. Honda supplies engines exclusively to Moto2 racing teams. Dunlop also offers exclusive tires and electronics up to € 650 are also strictly regulated and supplied by exclusive FIM partners. Carbon disc brakes are prohibited. Only steel disc brakes are allowed. However, there is no limit to the number of frames.
The Moto3 format has replaced the 125cc format since 2012. This format specifies a 250cc single cylinder 4-stroke engine, the maximum diameter of the cylinder is 81mm. The minimum total weight for both the car and the rider is 148 kg. Moto3 riders must be 28 years of age or younger. For first-time riders, they cannot be more than 25 years old.
