Hydrogen gas was first developed in China. In Europe, Dr. Paraceten (1493-1541) was the first to make hydrogen by reacting iron with sulfuric acid, but he did not describe the properties of the gas. , obtain a gas and examine its flammability. In 1771 the British scientist Canvendiso knew that hydrogen gas combines with oxygen to form water. In 1779 Lavoazie identified HIĐRO as a component of water and named HIDROGENIUM (from the Greek word hydoro is water and genao is born).
Oxygen was discovered almost simultaneously in the 70s of the 18th century by three scientists: Prisli (British) making oxygen by heating mercury oxide, Silo (Sweden) preparing oxygen by pyrolysis magnesium nitrate salts, salt pepper, and lavoaznesium are also by pyrolysis of mercury oxide. The name OXI reflects Lavoazie's misconception that oxygen is the substance that creates an acid. The Latin name OXYGENIUM is derived from the Greek word oxos is acid and genao is born.
FLO is Greek for destructive, FLO is the most active non-metal that can react with almost any substance.
CLO from the Greek means "green". Chlorine gas at normal temperature is a greenish-yellow gas.
BROM is the Greek word "bromos" meaning foul. BROMM is the only nonmetal in liquid under normal condition, very volatile and its vapor has a strong odor and stimulant properties.
