After watching a Krate Jutsu show in Japan, Emperor Hirohito showed great interest and asked the Ministry of Education of Japan to invite a famous Okinawan master to perform. In 1922 a famous martial arts master and well-known intellectual, Mr. Gichin Funakoshi, who is now considered the Master of modern Karate martial arts, performed in Japan. His convincing performances led to the result that the first Karate Jutsu dojo was opened at Keio University in Tokyo in 1924. 

Then there was another university in Tokyo, Shoka Wascda. the opening of the dojo to teach this martial art and soon the number of martial arts students studying Karate Jutsu in Japan outnumbered in Okinawa. In 1930, a fellow martial artist of Funakishi, Mabuni, went to Osaka to teach his sect. This sect was later developed into the Shito sect, while Funakoshi's Mabuni sect went to Osaka to teach his sect. This sect was later developed into the Shito sect, while Funakoshi's sect was Shotokan. In Okinawa, another martial arts master with Mabuni, Miyagi, also split up to teach his sect under the name Goju (Go: bridle, ju: Nhu), but basically this sect is very similar to the Shito sect of Mabuni. . Later, many more sects continued to be born one after another and so far it is estimated that both Japan and Okinawa have more than 100 sects.
