I don't mean to sound like I 'm setting the old show on pedestal like some kind of gold standard of entertainment in principle. "The Dukes of Hazzard" is a dumb show, although one that held a lot of fun. Translating something fun and not silly into an entertaining movie will be quite easy for Hollywood. Well the movie is stupid, and yes, entertaining. But not as entertaining as it could be.


Part of the problem is the cast, which lacks a good actor anywhere among them. Yes, I include Burt Reynolds. Burt gave up any credibility he had after the Strip Tease, and his recent appearance in The Longest Yard didn't do much to earn it. Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville play Bo and Luke Duke respectively, Not so many good young boys as they are fools in a really fast orange car. In case you don't get the speed on the show, Bo and Luke are cousins ​​living in the Hazzard County rural community. They live with Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson) and hot cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson), spend the day doing all the wonderful things you can expect to be hill people. You know, running speed traps, making illegal moonshine, getting in combat bars, and oh yeah, blowing up with dynamite arrows. Rednecks without a gun? Go figure.
